  • Therapy and Treatment for Eating Disorders:

Eating disorders often emerge during some of the most formative and demanding stages of life—childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood. During these years, individuals are navigating identity development, academic and social pressures, changing bodies, and increasing expectations for independence. Disordered eating behaviors—such as restricting, bingeing, purging, compulsive exercise, or persistent preoccupation with food, body, and weight—are rarely just about eating. Instead, they often reflect deeper emotional and psychological struggles, including anxiety, perfectionism, low self-esteem, trauma, difficulty regulating emotions, or a desire for control during overwhelming transitions.

Hallie provides specialized, evidence-based treatment for a wide range of eating disorders and disordered eating concerns, including:

    • Anorexia Nervosa

    • Bulimia Nervosa

    • Binge Eating Disorder

    • Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID)

    • Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorders (OSFED)

    • Feeding or eating challenges related to anxiety, trauma, or medical conditions

    • Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S)

At Ezer Psychotherapy, PLLC, Hallie works with children, adolescents, young adults, and families to address both eating disorder behaviors and the underlying factors that sustain them. Treatment goes beyond symptom reduction, focusing instead on fostering insight, emotional resilience, and lasting change. Therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and developmentally appropriate—meeting each client where they are while gently and thoughtfully challenging the eating disorder’s influence. Clients are supported in a non-judgmental space where they can feel seen, heard, and safe as they explore their relationship with food, body, and self.

  • Therapy for Functional Neurologic Disorder (Conversion Disorder):

Functional Neurologic Disorder (FND), also known as Conversion Disorder, is a condition where individuals experience real neurological symptoms—such as weakness, tremors, non-epileptic seizures, or difficulties with movement or speech—without a structural brain disease explaining them. These symptoms are very real, often distressing, and can significantly affect quality of life.

FND is best understood as a disorder of nervous system functioning rather than structure—where the brain has trouble sending and receiving signals properly. While the causes are complex and can involve psychological, neurological, and physical factors, the good news is that FND is treatable.

At Ezer Psychotherapy, Hallie specializes in the treatment of Functional Neurologic Disorder. Treatment may include psychoeducation about the brain-body connection, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mind-body techniques, and support for managing any related conditions like anxiety, trauma, or depression.

Our goal is to help you better understand your symptoms, reduce their impact, and restore a greater sense of control and function in your daily life. Recovery is possible—and we’re here to help you take the next step.

  • Therapy for Acute/Chronic Medical Conditions:

Managing an acute or chronic medical condition as a young person can be incredibly challenging—physically, emotionally, and socially. Conditions like diabetes, epilepsy, autoimmune disorders, chronic pain, gastrointestinal issues, an injury, or unexplained medical symptoms can impact every area of life, from school and friendships to identity and independence. Many young people living with an acute or chronic illness also experience anxiety, depression, isolation, or grief about the life they expected versus the one they’re navigating now.

At Ezer Psychotherapy, Hallie provides specialized therapy for adolescents and young adults coping with health conditions. Hallie recognizes that healing isn’t just about the body—it’s about emotional resilience, self-advocacy, and learning how to live fully, even with ongoing symptoms. Hallie’s therapeutic approach includes evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mind-body techniques to support emotional well-being, pain management, and stress reduction.

Hallie helps clients build skills for coping with uncertainty, navigating the healthcare system, and improving communication with doctors, family, and peers. When appropriate, Hallie involves families in the process to strengthen understanding and support at home.

Acute and chronic illnesses can feel like it takes over your life—but therapy can help you take some of that life back. You are not your diagnosis, and you don’t have to navigate it alone.

  • Therapy for Anxiety:

Anxiety is a natural response to stress—but when it becomes overwhelming, persistent, or interferes with daily life, it may be part of an anxiety disorder. These disorders can show up in different ways, including constant worry, panic attacks, social fears, or specific phobias. While anxiety can feel isolating or even paralyzing, it is also highly treatable.

At Ezer Psychotherapy, we specialize in evidence-based treatments that help individuals manage and reduce anxiety. Through approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based strategies, we work collaboratively with clients to understand the roots of their anxiety, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and build practical coping skills.

Whether you’re experiencing generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic attacks, or a specific phobia, therapy offers a safe and supportive space to regain control and confidence in your life. You don’t have to live at the mercy of anxiety—help is available, and healing is possible.

  • Therapy for Depression:

Depression can deeply affect how young people think, feel, and function in daily life. For adolescents and young adults, these challenges often show up as intense sadness, irritability, low energy, changes in sleep or appetite, difficulty concentrating, or emotional ups and downs that feel hard to control or understand.

At Ezer Psychotherapy, Hallie provides therapy for depression. Hallie specializes in helping young people navigate the emotional storms of mood disorders with care, compassion, and clinically proven support. Hallie works with each client to create a personalized treatment plan using evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based interventions. Hallie helps teens and young adults develop emotional regulation skills, build resilience, and reconnect with a sense of purpose and identity.

Hallie also recognizes that mood disorders don’t just affect the individual—they impact families too. When appropriate, Hallie includes caregivers in the process to strengthen communication, reduce conflict, and build a more supportive home environment.

Mood disorders are real, and they are treatable. With the right support, young people can learn to manage their symptoms, build meaningful lives, and feel more like themselves again. We're here to help make that possible.

As both a licensed psychotherapist and a professional dancer in the Twin Cities, Hallie brings a unique perspective to working with dancers, performing artists, and athletes. Hallie understands the discipline, passion, and vulnerability it takes to perform, as well as the challenges that can come with it—perfectionism, pressure to succeed, injury, body image concerns, and balancing mental health with training and performance demands.

    • Performance anxiety or stage fright

    • Self-esteem and perfectionism

  • When a child or teen begins therapy, it’s not just their journey—it's a family one. Hallie believes that parents and caregivers play a vital role in the healing process, and she partners with you to provide guidance, insight, and support along the way.

The name Ezer (pronounced ay-zer) comes from the ancient Hebrew word עֵזֶר, which means help or helper. In the Hebrew scriptures, this word is often used to describe God as a strong and present source of help in times of need. Far from implying weakness, Ezer carries a sense of strength, support, and life-giving aid—the kind of help that empowers a person to move forward.

At Ezer Psychotherapy, this meaning captures the heart of Hallie’s work: to come alongside children, adolescents, young adults, and their families, with care, insight, and tools that support their growth. Therapy is not about doing the work for you, but about being a strong and steady presence as you build the skills and resilience you need to thrive.
